Why does this happen? How come in this day and age Google can't give you the results you're looking for? Define Made for AdSense

A site is made for AdSense if its sole purpose is to get users to click on AdSense ads. Its owners don't intend that users will learn from its content or participate in a community. All that they want is for them to click on an ad. A site is NOT made for AdSense if its primary purpose is to provide unique content and the site owner decides to keep their content free by displaying advertisements, AdSense or other. This has been going on for years – television, newspapers, and magazines all generate revenue with advertisements. The difference is that the advertisements SUPPLEMENT the content of the show or article. The same applies for the web. If you have a news site or a forum, placing ads on your site does not make it a made for AdSense site.

Why Do People Make MFA Sites?

The thing with MFA sites is that they work. The overwhelming majority of the population has no clue what Google AdSense is and doesn't understand that Google and the site owner make money when they click on an ad. By placing these ads in locations that people tend to focus on (Google gives you examples of locations that result in the highest click through), it's inevitable that a certain percentage of visitors will click on the ads – either intentionally or unintentionally.

Site owners make anywhere from a five cents to several dollars per click (revenue is split between them and Google) depending on the industry. Big deal right? If you convert 5% of users into clicks and you make 10 cents a click, you're only making 50 cents for every hundred visitors to your site. Well if you make a thousand MFA sites and each gets two hundred visitors a day, you are making a cool $1,000/day.

Smart MFA site owners design sites with keywords that advertisers pay more than the standard 20 cents or 30 cents. They design sites with "content" about lawyers and car companies that purchase AdWords advertisements that cost several dollars a click. Re-do that calculation with five dollars a click instead of 10 cents and your jaw will drop.

How do they get their traffic? In addition to using conventional white hat SEO methods (like unique content and link building), many of these sites shamelessly also take advantage of keyword stuffing and cloaking – tactics that are considered unethical and are against Google's terms of service. Many also get their clicks in unethical ways – either by clicking on ads themselves or by employing bots to automatically click. This is called click fraud and is also against Google's terms of service.

Who Gets Hurt?

Some would argue that no one is getting hurt by "tricking" people into clicking. Hey they're not getting charged anything. No, but some advertiser is. Some business that's pouring their hard earned money into Google AdWords to attract TARGETED visitors to their site. Instead they end up paying for accidental clicks.  You (the searcher) also get hurt by getting less than optimal results. Imagine an internet where these sites didn't exist. You might actually have a chance at finding what you're looking for on the first try. That would save you some time that I'm sure you'd be glad to have.

Should Google Do Something About It?

Everyone's first thought is "Google could stop it if they tried." In reality, probably not. Regardless of the talent they recruit, there are literally hundreds of thousands of people trying to figure out a work around. As Seth Jayson recently said in his article about the same topic entitled How Google is Killing the Internet "I think when you pit a few hundred Google Smarty Pantses -- who are getting fat on stock options and gourmet meals at the Big Goo campus -- against many thousand enterprising schemers on the Internet, the battle will go to those hungry schemers every time."

Google does have a system in place to reduce click fraud and are always improving their algorithm to rid their results of sites that practice cloaking, keyword stuffing, and other black hat SEO techniques. Unfortunately, it's probably not enough.

The larger (and much scarier) question is whether or not Google wants to do something about it. For the time being, they stand to make a ton of money off of MFA sites. Until Google starts to see a negative impact from MFA sites there's really no reason for them to rush to do anything about it. Say Yahoo! all of a sudden came up with a way to identify and block MFA sites and provided better search results because of it, Google may be threatened by the potential (or actual) loss of search percentage. But until that happens I wouldn't expect Google to do much more than they are right now.

What Can You Do?

There's no doubt that MFA sites have clogged up the web with thousands of worthless pages. The best way to reduce the number of made for AdSense sites is probably to do something about it yourself. If you advertise on Google AdWords, don't allow Google to display your ads on their content network (AdSense sites). As an internet user, you can educate others about MFA sites and encourage them not to click on ads. It may not seem like much, but all of those clicks add up – just ask someone who owns a made for AdSense site.

Data entry work; it sounds almost depressing though doesn't it.  I mean is it really anything more than that, data entry?  The name seems pretty self explanatory.  So basically I picture some poor person sitting in one of 100 cubicles in a big square room hunched over a computer.  Of course the chair is not that comfortable; because what office chair ever is? The poor person at the desk also has on very thick glasses because their vision has deteriorated so much from staring at endless sheets of papers just to change their focus to a bright computer screen, and their hands have turned into claws from so much typing. Of course the most frustrating thing about the job is that it never ends.  There is no goal to be reached; no last page in the stack of papers, because when you finish the stack there is simply another one underneath it.  There is always more data to be entered. 

I know lots of people do this but I think the lack of a goal in itself would drive me crazy.  I am the type of person that has to work towards something and without a goal I tend to get frustrated and a little crazy.  Isn't that why they say postal workers go crazy?  I am surprised data entry workers do not have the same reputation.

If your online marketing material stimulates an image in your mind that is just not you, likely you've been trying to model your approach after someone else or you've been using work produced by someone else without giving them the benefit of knowing you, learning your approach, sharing your ideas and interjecting your personality into the material.

Let's admit it. We all do it!

When we get ready to publish something online we surf the net. We look for articles, ezines, web pages or auto-responders that resemble what we are working on, usually those published by direct competitors or sometimes published by mentors that we admire – successful online marketers.

While everything is fresh in our minds, we start to work on our own online marketing materials, thesaurus at hand, and we sometimes use words we don't even know the meaning of. We end up with something that sounds really good to us because it is comparable to something we've read. We publish it.

So what happens?

We end up with a hodge-podge of material on the internet, published in our name, that doesn't sound a bit like us. What's really interesting is the mixed image that results. Two articles on the same topic may even reflect different points of view or different personalities.

So, what's the solution?

The solution to this dilemma is to be ourselves and let our personalities show through in our online marketing materials.

If you are a Texan and the word "ya'll" is prevalent in your vocabulary, use it! If you are writing a blog entry in the midst of a snow storm and it is "a bit nippy outside" don't hesitate to say so. When you let your personality shine your image will be your own, not one you have crafted that will change from day to day depending upon what you have read most recently.

There's lots of talk about branding in regard to online marketing. The basic principles of branding are to decide on the image you wish to portray and what message you want to drive home.

While some people could write a book on how to brand your business, there are really only a handful of factors to consider – 1) your image; 2) your purpose; and 3) your marketing message. The purpose of a brand is to craft something that will stick in the minds of people and help them to remember your business.

Creating and building a strong brand does not have to compromise your personality. The only real decision is whether you want to be casual or professional. We all speak differently when we are in a business setting than we do when we are hanging out with friends, but either way, our whole personality doesn't change when we walk from one setting to the other.

In the world of online marketing, retaining your personality and your identity will go far in branding your business. You'll be much happier with the long-term effects of your online marketing if you don't try to be someone you are not. Be yourself and have fun!

These are the essential elements I look for when evaluating any offline/online business opportunity:

A program must be a one-time fee only. No monthly or recurring costs other than operational costs associated with marketing and advertising. Just no additional acquisition costs!

Commissions must exceed 60%.Internet transactions consist of intellectual and informational property. These should easily provide sufficient profit margins of this magnitude to a distributor otherwise,move on. These payments should also be made directly to the member and not the company as I've seen far too many monies go directly into the company's coffers forever remaining there leaving the sales force high and dry.

Each program must have one or more products in high demand that have an almost universal appeal to most of the general population.

The successful candidate of a program should be non-inventory intensive and should require no physical handling or forwarding of packages. Everything should be deliverable via the internet.

The ideal program must be available worldwide justifying the efforts of the internet marketer's time,energy and resources.

The program should have no sales targets or quotas required of its people.

The program will have the proper tools,resources,and knowledge to ensure the program can be marketed with such ease that an average 13-year old could execute it.

The ultimate program must have a business model that generates both active and residual income. Ideally,you can add passive.Let me clarify. Active income is generated by those who choose to be aggressive in their marketing efforts,passive is a method whereby those that choose not to be assertive in their efforts can still see significant gains and residual is a model that allows each member to make money off of each person who comes in under them. Remuneration if you will.

Saving the best for last. I have personally scrutinized thousands and have got my hands busy in several hundred of those opportunities easily spending over $150,000 in the process and I have to conclude-based on these experiences- that the paramount of opportunities consists of one undertaking NO selling,closing,prospecting,advertising,3-way calling and therefore NO rejection !

Unparalleled customer and technical support is a major plus to be considered.

There are very few opportunities that will pass this very stringent test. Even then they would still have to stand up to further testing in the cash flow and income sectors. That being said,you would still discover that many of them fall in the low end of the internet spectrum thus requiring that thousands of "units" be sold each month just  to get by. These are not businesses but more of a pastime.Pastimes will not prove to be lucrative.

There is a business that does not require a significantly large start-up by most standards and affords one the ability to recoup their stake VERY quickly. It is a business whereby I have seen results unheard of in my previous forays into the marketing abyss. In fact, it is one held in such high regard that CNN in conjunction with The Discovery Channel recently selected it amongst hundreds of entries for their "Model of Excellence".

Its automation is cutting edge and all one does is plug-in with ready to go web portals and tools. You can advertise or choose not to selecting a few pathways where it is all done for you for a very nominal , reasonable fee. Where most every opportunity -good or bad-has been maligned by those who cannot think outside of conventional "wisdom" or whom never got their enterprise off the ground; I  have seen this elite model  even pass that  rigorous test !

Many get qualified in their first two weeks and a vast percentage are realizing $10,000-$20,000 per month by month 3 and I personally know many who are attaining $100,000 + months in the same time frame.

Here's a tip to find your natural keywords for your articles.
The situation is this: you write naturally and normally on your blog. Often, when you finish, you have well over 500 or 750 words - perfect for an article or several.
The next step is to find an article which reflects keywords people naturally use - so they can find your article quickly. Since you've already ready written your soul into this, and it's exactly like you would talk to a person in front of you. You don't want to have to edit various paragraphs to get some keywords into play.
The solution is simple - use adwords.google.com - and this works only as you have individual webpage addresses (as blogspot does). You type in the exact name of that page, hit the "Get keywords" button and voila': all the keywords associated with that page are now exposed for your use.
At this point, you can then use these keywords to make a new article title (which you search for to finalize) and can even modify your blog post title so people can find your blog post more easily.
Now, interestingly, you can also then use these keywords as tags, labels, etc. Which in turn enable people to find your pages and your articles more easily.
I've just found a tool (which I'm evaluating) which claims to be able to scrape a site for an article. Now you can take earlier articles (blog posts) and then post them to a few hundred article directories, all with key search terms ready for you to incorporate.
All progress toward earning a great income online through article marketing - all from home.
(I wrote the above as a blog entry, let's see if it worked out... )
Update: Google Keywords found the following groups of keywords - blog, money, making money, earn money, money making idea, making money online, plus miscellaneous ones - napoleon hill, audio blogger, adwords software, adwords.
So a sample article title might be "How to earn money online through Google adwords - by using your blog and not spending a dime."
Searching finds that such a title doesn't exist. So I would be able to drop that into my article submission program and let it roll. Provided my bio linked to a relevant product, I'd be set for incoming clicks - and I didn't have to write from the keywords, I just had to let the keywords show themselves.
Now this doesn't take you into the niche keyword world, which is much more profitable, but that is just another research route to roll in on.
(And the number of words above - 411, plenty for an article. Nice.)
